Congratulations on your pregnancy – this is an exciting and emotional time for you. I come to midwifery with a love of working with women and a strong belief that pregnancy is a normal and exciting time in each woman’s life. Each woman’s journey is individual and it is a privilege to walk alongside them. I have a particular interest in home birth and am happy to support women who wish to birth at home or in a birth centre. If their journey should change to need extra support, I am happy to support them in a hospital setting. Wherever a woman births, my goal is to help her feel she has all the tools to have the best experience she can have. Antenatal appointments are about 1 hour long and I include midwifery specific acupuncture at no cost for women in my care who choose it. I live in the outskirts of Hamilton with my husband and four children aged 17, 16, 14 and 10. We have an old house we are slowly renovating, two golden retrievers, three cats and a menagerie of other animals. I look forward to meeting you.

Bio
Kia ora and congratulations! As an LMC midwife, my job is to support you through your pregnancy, birth and postnatal journey to facilitate a safe and positive experience. Over the course of your pregnancy we will work together discussing current and relevant information about your pregnancy, screening choices, birthing options, potential complications and postnatal care for you and your newborn baby. It is very important to me that you feel well informed to make the best decisions for you and your whānau. I will visit you regularly at home after the birth to help establish breastfeeding and support the ongoing health of you and your baby.

I completed my Bachelor of Midwifery through WINTEC in December 2017 and was awarded the ‘Waterford Birth Centre Award for Excellence in Primary Care’. Working as an LMC midwife in the Waikato region for the last three years, I care for a caseload of 4-5 women each month, typically consisting of 67% urban and 33% rural-based. Ensuring all women have access to excellent care is a priority for me. I enjoy working with a wide range of women and actively promote homebirth for women with uncomplicated pregnancies. I am a strong advocate and support women who have made informed choices regarding their own health. I also speak Spanish if English is your second language.
