Exercises for Pregnancy and Childbirth – Eileen Brayshaw BR
The physical skills of pregnancy relaxation, exercises and coping strategies for labour benefit all pregnant women and their partners. These skills are taught at antenatal classes by womens health physiotherapists or, in their absence, by midwives and sometimes health visitors. As Obstetrics Gynaecology is no longer a core subject in physiotherapy undergraduate education, there are insufficient specialist physiotherapists to provide tuition at all antenatal classes especially in rural areas. Because of this, many midwives and some health visitors are having to teach these skills without themselves having been properly equipped to do so. This book provides the necessary information in a practical and easy-to-follow format.
